Red House Village Show
Several members won prizes for art and craft work at the Annual Village Show. The Committee put an informative display together to raise our profile in the community and to promote Albric WI and the many interest groups we have. Many visitors to the event showed an interest and commented on the diversity of the group and our contribution to the village.

A Celebratory Evening at David Austin Roses
Members celebrated the forthcoming Centenary Year of WI with an evening at David Austin Roses. The evening began with an informative talk by Diana Perry on the history of the English Rose and how David Austin and his late wife Pat established an internationally renowned rose growing business. We then enjoyed a guided tour of the rose gardens in the glorious evening sunshine. Members sang a hearty rendition of Jerusalem in the Rose Garden before enjoying tea and scones with cream and jam in the coffee shop to round off a perfect summer evening. President Sue Dorward cut and shared the beautiful iced cake, made by a former member of the Royal Household staff, that she had won at the recent Shropshire Federation WI Conference.
