October 2021

Our October meeting was a real eye opener! Dr Anne Woolridge gave us some facts and figures about waste that were astounding. The word BILLIONS was used in every context, tonnes, pounds sterling and pounds weight. She also made us aware of how well Great Britain does on the world scene in dealing with this monumental problem, 37th in the world. Pretty good, but still room for improvement. The journey of our waste from kerbside to appropriate processing is fascinating and technologically mind blowing. What one might think of as a dull subject is anything but and members thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next month is craft night and the photographic competition ‘ Local with an environmental twist’ will be judged it will be a busy and full night. We meet in the Red House 7.30pm second Tuesday in the month.
