After what seemed a long summer break our meeting in September was certainly the beginning of autumn with the weather turning cooler. It was our 59th birthday meeting, when we normally celebrate with a treat of some kind. This year we all enjoyed an informative demonstration on how to make a good Indian Curry when Lajini Masala joined us. She came prepared with all her pots/pans and spices, and was very entertaining giving us first hand knowledge of some Indian traditions. She served a meal of vegetable curry, with a very unusual rice, bhajis, salad, poppadom’s and a yoghurt topping. We finished off the meal with individual cakes made by one of our members.
