We would like to thank everyone who bought cakes or preserves from our stall on a very hot, but successful day at Albrighton Fayre – everything was sold – raising a good amount for our funds. At our July meeting we welcomed Chloe Evans from The Haven Refuge, Wolverhampton to hand over the huge amount of toiletries we had collected for the charity, together with bags that had been made by our Craft Group. Pimms and a light finger buffet was served as we celebrated the end of our meetings until September.

During August some members will be travelling to Shrewsbury for a guided tour followed by lunch, while others join St George’s and Oakengates WI for a trip to Llandudno.

Our meeting in September will be our birthday night celebrations when we welcome Lajina who will be giving us a cooking demonstration on Indian Food, which will be followed by supper. This is our 59th birthday – so next year will be a special year – look out for our plans of how we intend to celebrate!
